Earth Month is Your Moment to Act!
Make This Earth Day Really Count for People and Planet…
What if $20/month could offset your carbon footprint — while creating real opportunity for families living in extreme poverty?
This Earth Month, you can do both.
In the 2026 Earth Day Challenge, just $20/month will:
– Create 2 weeks of work and income for villagers in Africa
– Plant 600 trees—enough to offset a year of CO₂ emissions
– Help address five of the world’s most urgent challenges
The Earth Day Challenge is driven by the proven results of two innovative “Recruit & Restore” projects
Since 2012, the community-led “Recruit & Restore” projects we support in Northwestern Madagascar and on the shores of Lake Tanganyika in Western Tanzania have been restoring ecosystems while supporting improved livelihoods in conservation. And your climate impact is measurable:
Carbon modeling shows that 600 trees planted at our sites will remove more CO₂ during maturation than an average U.S. resident emits in a full year (~13.5 metric tons).
But your impact through the Earth Day Challenge will ultimately reach far beyond trees and carbon.
Work began in 2012 at both the Recruit & Restore project sites supported by the Earth Day Challenge in Madagascar & Tanzania.
This Earth Day, you can help secure long-term well-being for vulnerable communities and ecosystems in five ways:
The Earth Day Challenge helps…
Reduce Poverty and Food Insecurity
💚 Your monthly gift provides meaningful work and income for families living on less than $3 per day.
🍊 Agroforestry provides fruit and nutrition in Tanzania, while mangrove restoration in Madagascar helps revive vital crab fisheries.
The Earth Day Challenge helps…
Support Climate Resilience and Adaptation
🌪️ Restoring vital ecosystems protects vulnerable coastal locations and enables communities to withstand floods, erosion, and extreme weather.
🌱 Trees planted in tropical regions grow faster and absorb more CO₂—maximizing your climate impact.
The Earth Day Challenge helps…
Restore Forests and Biodiversity Hotspots
The Earth Day Challenge helps…
Protect Clean Water and Marine Health
💧 Tree planting protects watersheds in Tanzania, while new freshwater wells in Madagascar support both communities and restoration efforts.
🐟 Mangroves protect coastlines and fisheries, while reduced runoff in Tanzania preserves critical breeding grounds in Lake Tanganyika.
The Earth Day Challenge helps…
Support Global Equality and Sustainability
⚖️ Africa has contributed just 3% of global emissions, yet countries like Madagascar and Tanzania are among the most climate-vulnerable.
